Our Staff

Our staff is made up of teachers, all of whom are chosen for their professionalism, as well as their caring and compassionate personalities. Our teachers delight in unlocking your child’s natural curiosity through providing the stimulation necessary for and experiential learning process. All staff participates in annual in-service training in order to remain alert to the ever changing needs of today’s families and to the findings of current research. Staff development is ongoing throughout the year. Many of our teachers are fluent in Russian, English and Hebrew providing the children with an opportunity to be in a multi-lingual setting. All of our staff hold First Aid and CPR cards and have all necessary certifications mandated by the DCF. (Department Of Children and Families).

Alona Epstein Dayan

Alona is our beloved toddler teacher and an anchor here at the The Gan. Educated at University of Haifa, Alona has been working in our early childhood center since we’ve opened our doors. Adored by her students, she is known for her warm and inviting lessons and her ability to weave songs and poems into the classroom environment. Alona received her National Child Development Associates certificate and is trained in First Aid and CPR, as well the Conscious Discipline Methods for behavior management and is DCF certified. Morah Alona speaks Russian, Hebrew and English and used her diverse background to engage the children on many levels.

Ilana Sokol

Ilana, a native of Ukraine brings her formal musical training and early childhood expertise to our school. A graduate with honors of the University Nikolaev with a specialization in education as well as the Dneipepropeitrovsky College, Ilana has received the highest level of education in Russia in music and teaching. With her ingenuity and creativity she creates a magical environment in our Nursery class. With Ilana’s guidance and effort our garden has blossomed into a veritable Eden!

Daniella Altman

Daniella is a Montessori trained educator from Mexico. She graduated from the Panamerican Montessori Society with specified training for children aged 0-3, as well as AyeletHashachar Seminary in Jerusalem. Her early childhood practice has been in schools in Mexico and Jerusalem, creating environment of warmth and support. Daniella is fluent in Spanish, English and Hebrew and is a wonderful asset to our program.

Tanya Levy

Tanya joined our school, having previously taught in a Russian Montessori preschool in Brighton Beach, New York. A native of Ukraine, Tanya’s Russian fluency and passion for Judaism make her the ideal teacher in our Montessori class. She is trained in First Aid and CPR and has been trained in early childhood education in Redondo Beach, California. Tanya received her Child Development Associates certificate through the IDEA national teacher training program. Through her engaging circles and creative Reggio Emilia activities she creates an environment of love and excitement for Torah and Jewish holidays.

Basha Rodriguez

Basha has studied early childhood education at Miami Dade College, and received her National Child Development Associates certificate. She is DCF certified, is trained in First Aid and CPR and has certificates in Montessori education from Alexander Montessori for 0-3’s. Basha’s love of art and creativity are an asset in our Toddler class, as she prepares and plans projects and bulletin boards. She has taught most recently at KLA Montessori, and has 3 years of early childhood teaching experience in a Montessori environment.
